Prakriti is the dynamic feminine principle of existence that combines the three gunas that characterise the entire universe. While Prakriti is the visible universe and observed, her counterpart Purusha is primordial consciousness and the observer. When Prakriti and Purusha unite, several stages in the creation of the existing material world begin. The Prakriti room on the Sattva floor represents a seeker's journey from nature to enlightenment and supernature.

Artist Ajay Gulati spent a year creating the painting Staircase to Enlightenment, depicting the transition from nature to supernature. The first stage of this journey requires detachment from material possessions. The rejection of dogma follows this. Finally, it entails emptying the kamandal, representing the pot of conditioning. The door to enlightenment opens when one transcends the mind, senses, and intellect.
The motifs in the Prakriti room are inspired by nature. The headboard inlay of dried leaves represents how new leaves of awareness can only sprout after old attitudes have dried and died. As the old and obsolete thought processes fade, a new way of life emerges, symbolised by the embedded seeds on the cupboard. The teak root chair is a wooden metaphor for the soul’s immortality. The leaves on the tree that sprout from the roots fall when the seasons change. They are replaced by newer foliage. However, if the roots are cared for, they will grow stronger over time. The roots represent the soul, while the leaves represent the physical body, which withers and dies. The chair reminds us to nourish what is permanent rather than focusing on what is transient.
