Nirvana is a spiritual state described by The Buddha as deathlessness. It is the cessation of all mental activity in which the mind is in a state of heightened awareness and enlightenment, free of the burden of conditioning and worldly desire. The Nirvana room on the Sattva floor is an experience of bliss.

The fresco painting traces Prince Siddhartha’s journey to becoming Gautama Buddha. It depicts his early life as a royal raised in luxury and four encounters with the elderly, sick, dead, and a monk that taught him about the impermanence of conditioned existence. As a result of this realisation, he gave up his family and kingdom to seek the truth. During his six years as a renunciate, he faced numerous challenges and temptations before finally attaining enlightenment while sitting under the Bodhi tree. The Stupa chair is inspired by Ashoka the Great’s magnificent Buddhist complex at Sanchi. It represents the four qualities needed to attain the Bodhisattva state of mind: love, peace, trust, and courage. The dove and the hand motif on the cupboard symbolise the need to keep one’s flighty mind under control and away from worldly entrapments. The khadaus on the bathroom wall depict footwear worn by yogis in the past. The wooden footwear acts as an insulator, preventing energy from escaping through the feet.
