Shringar is a Sanskrit word that means ‘beauty,’ ‘attraction,’ or ‘aesthetics.’ On the surface, it refers to the feminine art of adornment to attract the beloved. On a deeper level, it represents self-love. The Shringar Room on the Rajas Floor is a celebration of beauty - inside and outside.

The bindi on the wall represents married life and is one of the sixteen forms of adornment or solah-shringars. The red vermillion dot is placed on the forehead between the brows, where the sixth chakra, Ajna, also known as the third eye, is located. While the two physical eyes look outward, the third eye looks inward. The Nathni lamp hangs on the opposite wall. The nathni, or nose pin, is mentioned in the Vedas and is regarded as the most seductive of all shringar adornments. The sexual organs are thought to be stimulated by nose piercing. The peacock chair represents beauty and grace. The allure of visual stimuli is represented by the peacock’s multicoloured feathers, which resemble an eye. The room’s painting depicts a woman in various moods, emphasising the importance of self-love. The bathroom mirror installation depicts the many facets of a woman and the various ways she is perceived. Mirrors reflect self-love, which is essential to shringar.
