The painting in the room depicts Krishna in a playful mood, revelling in Vrindavan’s colourful surroundings. Krishna’s favourite bird, whose feather always adorned his headgear, is honoured with the Peacock chair. The Flute installation honours Krishna’s passion for music. It is also associated with one of his esoteric pastimes, the ras lila, in which young maidens or gopis from Vrindavan would sneak away from their homes to be with him when they heard the sound of his flute.
